An annoying little pipsqueak whose name I shall not mention (though it's not like he can sue me in defamation I'm sure I can find some defence like justification/fair comment) constantly talks about Chelsea's money and hooboy, irritating everyone by bragging about the strengths of his team without any evidential proof (or so far that I've read- was too disgusted to go further than the last 10 pages). What should be written are constructive comments rather than things that will incite true fans of football. Guess which team he supports?
I'm not saying as a fan you aren't entitled to saying "Chelsea rocks" or "Arsenal rocks" or any other team. I'm just saying, don't criticize other teams by insulting them just to raise the 'standard' of your team, it's just like how who's good and who's not should be settled on the pitch, through results, rather than by mudslinging.
What a paradox the phrase 'the beautiful game' has become. Not just on the pitch, but off it.
I know it's been going on since forever, and people are sure to say they're entitled to their own opinion, but surely it's one thing to express your opinion and another to blatently ignore the fact that we're living in a civilized world? (I'm sure the counter argument will be that football isn't a civilized sport- so I ask "is that still considered a beautiful game"?)
I know many football fans who respect the game. They may pass the occasional insult but it's all in good fun. So again the distinguishing factor is just how much malice goes into their 'insults'.
By all means, enjoy the game with a few choiced comments/bad language during the game but stay clear of insults that bear such malice and contempt for teams other than your own. Like I said before, I may love Chelsea but I'm not one to shy away from acknowledging when the team is playing like crap (but throw my support to them because that's when they need it most) and give credit to rival teams that have done well, like United at the moment and Liverpool at Home!
(In other comments, I see many weird legal terms thrown in as a result of my memorial with defamation and evidential proofs-AIYA HELP)
